Depression and Fitness
Hey everyone. So before I start I want to say that I know I need to clean up my diet habits. I am fully prepared to do it. For the ladies that have gone through weight loss or depression I’m hoping you can help me out with some hope and or advice.
I am 5’6” and used to be 145 when I was in shape. I had a baby and the weight was absolutely terrible to get rid of. I got down to 155 pounds and was happier with it but then my husband and I both started full time school. I worked around 50 hours a week and my husband 80 hours and those don’t include school. During that duration we had no time or energy. We would do fast food or whatever was easy. Yes we got into that terrible and easy rut.
Now I am ready to change it because I feel more depressed than I ever have in my life which is something I’ve been fighting off and on for 14 years. I am ALWAYS tired. I ALWAYS have a headache and working out makes it worse. And to be honest I’m scared. I have terrible knees that need strength training. The last time i tried to start a workout routine after just 3 days my knees were worn out (and the workout wasn’t aggressive). I was going to take a break the day I dislocated my knee again.. but this time I broke my arm in the process.
When your weight loss journey started or even healthier living started what obstacles did you have to overcome? Did anyone else have headaches that were made worse by exercise?? For the ones that had/have depression how did you stay motivated and did the exercise help fight your depression?
