I almost met Obama at an Ice-cream Parlor
Okay, so, here goes. This is the story all about how I almost met former president Barack Obama at an ice cream shop in the Alaskan countryside. (And how I almost fell off a cliff)
So, I was about 6-ish at the time and me and my family were camping in an RV in the Alaskan woodlands. The way to get to the ice cream shop was to follow a path on a cliff that had bars big enough for a child to fit through. It was also about two and a half stories to the ground.
I walked to the edge and peered over, being too young to fear death was my mistake. I looked down and the rocks under my feet started to crack. I literally almost fell to my death but my mom caught the back of my shirt before the rocks rolled away and held on to me and my sisters for the entirety of the walk to the ice cream shop.
We made it in one piece and out in one piece. We had ice cream and it was delicious (I got Fireweed and Honey, a true Alaskan classic).
The next morning we were in the RV when my dad burst in with his phone. Apparently, two hours after we left the president of the United fricking states came in to grab a quick cone. I still remember to this day what flavor he got because A. My mom got it too, and B. I was mad I missed my chance to see Obama in person. They both got lemon meringue in a single scoop.
I’m still mad.
