when is the ideal time to have a baby shower? i am a second time mom and been debating on having one. i didn't do a baby shower with the first one. And do you see any importance to it? i am currently 19 weeks pregnant.

I just had mine and I’m 34 weeks. I wish I’d have had it 4-6 weeks sooner. It’s hard standing for too long, and plus you’ll just be plain exhausted.

I say early 3rd tri. I know its tradition to wait until like 36 weeks but some women experience preterm labor and so on.

I had one at 30 weeks and another at 32 weeks. My family lives several hours away from my husbands family and us, so we had to have one for each family. And honestly, the earlier the better. You will get an idea of what you still need after your shower plus time to get it all organized. I was a lazy bum in my third trimester and definitely needed those 8 weeks to organize lol

I’m having mine early, around 26 weeks I think. It’s the only time that works.

I think it's a nice way to include people in your life and be a part of a community, but honestly I need help buying things.  This is my first. I do not plan on having a baby shower for my second. If you don't need much, you could consider doing a "diaper party" after baby is born. We do this at work. They're nice bc people get to see the baby and you get diapers, which need to be stocked for every child.

30 weeks is a good time. if you're more laid back about it you could do a coed diaper party or something less gift -focused since it's not your 1st baby.

It’s fun to have a party and get presents and cake. It’s not significant, like, some sort of ritual that your family can’t survive without or anything...
I’d skew a little sooner - I missed three of my four scheduled showers with my first because she came early.
