If there are fraternal twins on dad’s side and not moms, it’s still just luck. What’s actually being passed down is hyper ovulation on the MATERNAL side. Your mom can genetically pass down hyper ovulation to you, as her mother did for her. You can’t ovulate two eggs just because there’s twins on your husbands side 😉

Not commonly known however the father having twins on his side has nothing to do with your likelihood of conceiving fraternal twins. Fraternal twins happen when the woman hyper ovulates, meaning that her body releases two (or more) eggs during one ovulation cycle. The fathers genetics and sperm have nothing at all to do with how many eggs YOUR body produces during ovulation. Identical twins however are a completely random event of the splitting of one egg so it can happen to anyone regardless of generics.

Fraternal twins are the only twins that are hereditary. Identical twins are simply a miracle. My mother has a set of triplets. (2 Girls 1 Boy) and I’m pregnant with a set of fraternal boys. My first test was digital and it didn’t take long for the pregnant sign to show. It almost happened immediately. My second one looks darker. I’ll let you be the judge lol

Fraternal twins are hereditary on the mother’s side. My mom and one of her cousins has a set of twins. My mother had a great aunt that had 5 sets of twins 😱 
So there wasn’t much shock when we found out we’re having twins as well. 
I took this the morning that my period was supposed to start. It was positive before I could even get the cap back on. It was instant. I took one the next day, same exact thing happened and it was just as dark.
