Can I put freshly pumped breast milk in a bottle of pumped breast milk from this morning? (Both pumped the same day)

as long as they're both the same temperature. make sure you warm the one from this morning or cool down the one you just pumped.

Yep! Ditto to the other comments about them being the same temperature and go by the older milk as far as when you need to use it by.

I will get 1 8oz bottle out and pump into it all day. it normally ends up with about 10oz in it but I will pump in the later morning and then again in the afternoon. I never adjust the temp of either of them. my son is 9 months old and i haven't had any problem with milk so far. hell most of the time i pump around 11-am-noon and then pump again around 3ish and leave the bottle out the entire time. I put it up when it's full. so far my milk has been fine 🤷‍♀️

Does anyone know why this is recommended? I’ve been growing irritable about bringing them down to the same temperature. I only pumped about two or 3 ounces at a time and don’t want to waste the storage bags I’d rather combined them into a bag with 6 ounces. I’m a biology teacher and am trying to understand why the recommendation is this way. Because refrigeration or freezing kills the live cells anyway...
