When can I go swimming after new tattoo?

I got it 2 weeks ago. It finished scabbing and all. I’m still worried. It’s late and I can’t call my tattoo artist at the moment.

my artist says not to swim, bathe, use a hot tub (basically avoid submerging it in water) until it's 100% healed, as well as avoiding large amounts of direct sunlight until it's fully healed as well.

you're supposed to wait until it's healed completely but my best friend got hers done and her tattoo artist said that the risk is minimal to getting an infection if you're in a chlorinated pool. Just no swimming in the ocean or a lake.  basically anything with higher risk of infection
