Trying to get pregnant

Hey guys, looking for opinions. my husband and I are newly married since 3/27/18 and we are trying for a baby. we haven't had any luck yet. He has a son previous to me. I have been pregnant a long time ago but the pregnancy was terminated. Now years later I am 33 he is 37 we have been actively pursuing for a baby and no baby still. Infact, I just started my period. I have been trying also to quit smoking to make the process easier. not to mention I am not drinking. I obviously have been under a lot of stress but I finally feel like a normal person. any tips on how to conceive? thank you in advance
