Late post- but we have brothers!
My October 16 boy is officially a brother! I had them exactly 20 months, 7 hours, and 13 minutes apart. I almost had them both on the 11th! He was born at 12:42am on June 12th. I’m kicking myself now because I was fighting the contractions/urge to push and didn’t want to get on the birthing stool. If I listened to my body when I got the urge to push around 10:30pm I would easily have had him on the 11th!! Oh well. 7 hours and 13 minutes off from being exactly 20 months is impressive.
EVERYTHING is different from my October baby! I actually carried my second longer (he was one oz smaller than big brother though!). I had an all natural birth this time. I was in early labor for two weeks!! Recovery was easy this time as I had absolutely no tearing. He has a completely different personality (like the opposite!), and he is a great breast feeder (my first would never latch, even after seeing multiple lactation consultants).
Having two under two surprisingly has been a lot easier than I expected and my oldest is such an incredible big brother!
Unfortunately we did have major, major complications after the birth where they almost had to remove my uterus to save my life. It’s not recommended that we have any more children as my life would be at risk. My husband and I wanted four children. We also really wanted a little girl. Having to let go of that dream has been a struggle. But it’s making me appreciate every moment so much more. I’ll go days without sleep if that means I get to soak in more time with my last baby. I’m trying to count my blessings. Two healthy boys. I’m still feeling traumatized by what happened, but I’m also just so in love with our newest addition!!
