Hospital stay = 👎🏻

My poor little girl had a high fever at 11 weeks old (on vacation, of course). We ended up in the hospital for three days. 😢

We had just gotten done driving five hours to our destination and she just wasn’t acting herself. No fever, no coughing, no runny nose... just... different. Went to bed and woke up at 1230am and just knew something wasn’t right. I rushed over and felt her and she was BURNING up. I took her temp rectally and it was 102.6. 😳

Drove to the closest ER and they ran a bunch of tests... WBC came back 26,000... lumbar puncture was fine, urine was fine, chest X-ray had a few spots and they were pretty confident it was atypical pneumonia. Unfortunately that hospital didn’t have a pediatric unit, so we were transferred via ambulance.

Three days later... we wereboth pretty traumatized. 😞

Finally feeling better...

No more IV!!

Moral of the story: if your mommy spidey sense is pinging, don’t ignore it!
