Anyone else nervous?

About having a winter baby? I’m scared I won’t keep her warm enough or she will be too warm. 2nd time moms with a winter baby, what were some of you must haves for your baby? I already have the jj cole careseat cover. But do you guys have any tips or tricks for December babies? Is anyone else nervous for a winter baby too?!

I had my baby in January and I’m having #2 in January as well. The next day to be exact (thanks c-section). It helps because it’s winter time so you have an excuse to stay inside more. Just use swaddles and long sleeve onesies. Blankets will be your best friend when you have to go out but just remember there’s regulations on thick jackets, coats etc while in a car seat as it can cause suffocation. I enjoyed having my baby in the winter time and told be honest I’d be nervous to have my newborn in the summer during a heatwave like we are currently having lol

For some reason, I have babies during the winter lol ( first daughter December baby, second daughter November baby and now this baby is a December baby lol). With my first I lived in Chicago. It was beyond cold lol. I was told by the nurses not to over dress the baby, like in a big baby coat, and to just put a onesie on her and an outfit over that, with some socks and a hat at all times. Then once she’s in the car seat, place a blanket over her and then a big blanket or car seat cove over the entire car seat. It worked out fine and my daughter never got sick. With my second, she was born here in Houston. Even though it was the end of November, it was about 72 when she came home. I did the same thing as with my first. Even though it’s not as cold, babies don’t know how to control their body temperature yet. Just try to keep baby covered and wear a hat and socks.

I’m worried about the flu since I’ll be having the baby at the end of November but since I live in florida I’m not worried about cold.

this will be my second December baby, I'm a December baby, and I have a January baby. I think winter babies are the best because you're really not too active outside since it's winter (or at least I'm not) so I never really had to worry about keeping my kiddos warm. Then by the time you're ready to take your kiddo out it's warming up and less likelihood of the flu

I'm worried about that too! My first is a June baby so no issues with cold then. I am doing strict rules on who can hold the new baby because it's not worth him or her getting sick. I also plan to baby wear nearly all of the time when out so that will help with people getting too close because I can keep them out of my space. Also I'm going to be feeding our family lots of probiotics and vitamin C to try to keep healthy.

I am! My last was a mid June Baby and we didn’t have to worry so much. I am super paranoid about someone getting our newborn sick, especially with how bad flu season was last year. I’m honestly probably going to hole up in the house for all of Jan and February.
