What is the 20 week ultrasound

I was wondering what do they do at my 20 week ultrasound and is it 3D or regular

It’s anatomy scan. They measure all the parts of the baby. Look at their heart, brain, kidneys, etc making sure everything is measuring on track. They look for any genetic issues. They tell you the sex of the baby. Takes about 20-30 minutes and is in 2D.

The last thing to fully form is the spine and that happens at around 17-18 weeks. The anomaly scan literally checks every inch of your baby to make sure they have developed properly and there are no health concerns. The point of this scan is not to check the gender but if they can see they usually let you know if it's s boy / girl

Depends on your Dr - most things they will look at in 2D, but some practices will also show you 3D then.

Your 20 week scan is your Anomaly Scan where they check Baby head to toe. It is also the gender reveal should you so wish. Free scans are always in 2D you have to pay for a 3D scan usually with a private scan clinic
