Honeymoon or save?

Question

My SO and I are getting married in October, when I’ll be about 20 weeks pregnant. We’re trying to decide if we should go on the honeymoon (Mexico) or if we should put the money into savings for our new house and baby. 
I want the honeymoon, since it would be nice to just spend some time together alone before a third is added. But he wants to save for rainy days. 
What do you guys think is a good idea?

I would recommend either picking a different location for a honeymoon or choosing to save money. Mexico = Zika

I would never travel to mexico pregnant! it's a very dangerous country to start off with and you are more vulnerable being pregnant. maybe do a mini honeymoon local and then plan a larger trip for your 1 year anniversary.

maybe do a weekend getaway some where closer so you get thr honeymoon but wont cost as much

I think you only live once and you never know when you might have another opportunity :). Even if it's a bit more budget than the average honeymoon, it would be nice to get away. we live in Europe and are going to Malta for 10 days on our baby moon!

Do both, pick a different location closer to home so you can get away for a few days and still save money. My husband and I went to Gatlinburg, TN (we live in Ohio) for 4 days and the whole trip cost us about $1,000

I would save the money to go on a honeymoon after the baby is born and settled!

both, find a honeymoon location that won't be as expensive and save the rest of the money you would have spent going to Mexico. Most of my friends who didn't take advantage of their honeymoon often tell me they regret not doing it. You don't need to go all out just as long as you and hubby have that time spent together to enjoy each other as husband and wife especially before baby comes.

I agree with the other comments. Honey/Babymoon however Is go somewhere with a lower risk of Zika.

Mexico isn’t that bad depending on where you’re going and if you’re staying in a resort. (Just be careful with water even bottled water) We actually eloped and went to the Virgin Islands instead of having a wedding. Whatever money we would of spent on a wedding we put into buying a second home and turned it into a rental property. We’re both still extremely satisfied with our decision.
