Advice Needed! Pregnancy clothes sizing????

Question

My husband and I are TTC and I recently lost some weight so all of my clothes are a couple sizes too big.  Since I can sew I was planning on taking a bunch of them in to make them fit again. 
What I am wondering is should I keep these too big clothes to wear during pregnancy or does maternity sizing not work like that? I am thinking about both pants and tops.

I was an xs/00 before getting pregnant. I’m 34 weeks and still an xs in maternity clothes, the only maternity clothes I buy though have been leggings/shorts with a built in belly band, I think the shirts are a waste of money. In shirts I can fit into a small or if I want something more loose I’ll wear a medium and this is in regular sizing rather than maternity. I do have one maternity shirt and that’s an xs which still fits. The girl that worked at the maternity store told me most maternity clothes are made to stretch with your growing belly and depending on the weight you gain you usually stay the same size in their clothes.

you only need to go one size up depending if you gain weight slowly and not all at once. for me I was xs and s before getting pregnant. I don't buy maternity tops bc that's a waste of money so I go for M to L depending on the fabric and if it'll shrink in the wash. for bottoms and your doing maternity pants you generally stick to the same size or go one up. so if you were a xs in pants you'd go to s or 1 depending on the tightness and how comfortable you are.

I just started shopping for maternity clothes and I've found that I wear the same size as regular clothes. I usually wear XS and tried on some smalls. They we're super big around the neck/arm holes and the hips. All that said, I wouldn't bother making any adjustments yet. There's no way to know how much and where you will gain weight. Just hang on to it all and know that you have it for later!
