I have a 5 year old stepdaughter. Her biological mom hasn’t seen her since she was 2 years old and is now wanting to be a part of her life. My step daughter doesn’t even know she exists anymore. I’m the only mother she knows. Once it’s been proven to us that her biological mom is in a stable environment and no longer on drugs she is going to be seeing her again. How do we explain that she has another mom? How do we explain why she doesn’t know who she is and hasn’t seen her in so long?
