Anxiety after birth control

Br

Breana

Ok, so I was on birth control for 9 years. I am now 25. I stopped taking it because I was having break through bleeding and was sick of messing around with different kinds of birth control pills.

Since stopping birth control pills altogether 2 months ago I am having extreme anxiety and some mild depression. My anxiety causes me to question everything in my life including my amazing bf whom I have been with for 5 years. I feel like I am unfamiliar with myself.

Has anyone else experience bad anxiety and some depression after stopping hormonal birth control?

The pill no matter how low the dose has always made my depression worse. It has to do with hormones I think. So I’m sure it could work the opposite way like you are experiencing too. I hope it levels out for you it’s a terrible feeling.

I was on birth control for 16 years and just stopped 3 and half weeks ago. I started have extreme anxiety and panic attacks. I went to the gyno and they told me it could be hormonal. Now I’m on anti anxiety medication. You’re not alone but you should talk to your doctor.

Yes I stopped taking it in March and since then I'm been super depressed for absolutely no reason. And I'll get very anxious out of no where. also my sex drive is crazy high and I haven't gotten a period at all since I stopped but I'm for sure not preggo. 😂

Yes all this bad stuff is after I stopped taking it. I love being on it can help regulate your period, weight, and acne if you have issues with any of the above. 😊

the only reason I stopped was to try to have a baby. I plan on going back on when I'm done with having kids lol

I’m interested to hear the answer too! 😬 I haven’t started birth control yet but I’m still researching.
