I just took a pregnancy test and it came out positive (it was an expired one, but I read that that doesn’t matter if it is positive). I’m terrified to tell my boyfriend right now because he’s planning on going out to visit his family for a month without me and will possibly be staying out there permanently if it feels right to him. We are in a rough patch right now and I’m afraid that if I tell him, he will leave. We’ve gone through one abortion together. This pregnancy was an oops due to birth control failing and the plan B pill failing obviously. I don’t know what to do and Im afraid to tell him. Can I get some advice or some encouragement?

Update:

I told him and he thinks I purposely got pregnant to make him stay with me so he doesn’t move back to his family. The newer tests said positive. My period should have started a week ago, so doesn’t that mean I probably conceived three weeks ago about? How long does it take after conception for a pregnancy test to show positive?
