How early (if at all) Do you take a tour of the Hospital you’re delivering in?

I’m not going to bother, I imagine it will be the least of my problems when I’m in labour, I’d rather just turn up and be shown to a room, my hospital only has one birth bath anyway so there’s no promise to get that room anyway 🙁

I have done it twice because I was induced both times. Big times I brought the nurses doughnuts and coffee.

I never did this is my 3rd. But I’ve known my local hospital since my grandma worked there and my sister gave birth when I was 13.

I’m taking mine at 15 weeks! I know they offer pregnancy classes so I want to get in as early as I can to take advantage of the free classes :)

We took our tour the first week of the childbirth preparation classes our local hospital offers. I was 28 weeks. It was super helpful!

We went to a couple classes at the hospital I delivered at. It was nice— we got to meet a lot of the nurses and local pediatricians, plus they talked you through all the pain management options (including techniques for natural pain management, like water and birthing ball— I went for the epidural myself, but I was glad to see they respected all choices). They talked through exactly what was happening at each stage of labor. We toured the delivery ward and preregistered at the front desk to get insurance paperwork out of the way, so that when I was in labor, we could skip the front desk and go right to the maternity wing. I felt more familiar with the hospital and staff and I’m really glad we went!
