How many weeks do drs check cervix?

How many weeks will the check your cervix to see if you dilated?

Checking dilation was always pointless to me. All of my pregnancies I was either dialed a couple cm and nothing happened until weeks later or like this last time I was 0cm dilated- 3 days late and I randomly went in to labor and had him 10 hrs later.

37-38 weeks. I denied the first check at 37 weeks. I ended up getting checked at 40 weeks for the first time and was induced shortly after.

Usually 36/37...with my second I was checked at 30 when I went into preterm labor.

My doctors been checking since 30 because of possible pre term labor.  So I get checked every appointment due to inconsistent contractions. Every person and doctor is different though, and just because you're dilated doesn't mean baby is coming or vice versa. Babies make their own rules.
