Read this: Were you given a life time maximum for fertility treatment by insurance?
To everybody out there, thanks to a very kind woman here on Glow informing me of her journey and how she was able to discover this, like her I also was able to save myself $10,000!! Insurance companies are scams they don’t want us to know how we can use their system to benefit us but they sure want to know how they can use us to benefit them! I was told by BCBS PPO insurance company that we only had $10,000 coverage for fertility treatment. Even after meeting with our IVF centers financial coordinator we were not told anything different. I now just got off the phone with my insurance company and discovered that I do have a $10,000 lifetime maximum for fertility treatment but my husband also has the same exact policy for $10,000 lifetime maximum meaning together we actually have $20,000 worth of insurance to use for IVF treatments. After having a rough first round at Ivf this made all the difference in the world for us. We were about to sign up for a huge loan through our fertility clinic tomorrow but luckily today we discovered this information. Please, if you have a lifetime maximum assigned to you by your insurance company make sure that it is for every single individual on the policy not just for the family policy altogether. Those who are married can get double their lifetime maximum by using both their’s and their partners coverage! Thank you again to the kind woman that open my eyes to this information! You made a difference in our journey!
