International travel??

Question

We are contemplating an international trip to Italy to visit friends in the spring. Our son will be 11 months old at that time. Thoughts/experience with traveling with a small child? Has anyone left the child behind with grandparents for 7 to 10 days? Would that be a better option compared to dealing with jet lag and the complicated nature of traveling with a small child? Thanks for your thoughts!!

Depends on your kid. How well do they handle trips to restaurants, stores, car rides, etc? And how do they do with their schedule being alittle off. We took my son when he was just turning 1 on a cruise to the Bahamas and he had a blast. We had to travel 12+ hours to get to the port but he handled it pretty well for that age. He’s used to being on the go though and has traveled (in the car haven’t done plane yet) for hours being strapped in to a car seat. Even though we haven’t flown with him yet I’m sure it would be just as easy. He’d probably sleep most of the time and he’d be able to stretch his legs. As long as your kid is pretty flexible with alittle change you should be good to take him with you. Just pack a lot of snacks and entertainment 😊
