registry

hey all, FTM here, so I'm having 2 baby showers and my first one is this Saturday and the next is August 4th. I spent a lot of time making my registries to make sure I registered for everything I could need. well my first shower is 3 days away and only like 5 things have been purchased off my registries. there is about 30 people coming. do people not even look at your registry and just buy whatever they want?! I at least want the basics that I registered for. I dont want to get a bunch of baby clothes and nothing practical.
