Would you travel for a funeral at 37 weeks? *read for specifics*

I am 37 weeks today. Yesterday morning my fiancé found out his friend, fellow soldier, and classmate from college passed away. They both are officers in the Army, and went through 4 years of college and ROTC program together. All his fellow officers and classmates from the same group will be attending the funeral which is in Florida. We are located in Iowa. Now he has decided to drive, which is 18 hours 😫 I really really do not feel comfortable with him driving such a long distance alone because that’s intense for one person. He suggested me tagging along but I’m so far into the pregnancy I don’t know if that’s best. But I’m also worried about him being a thousand miles away from me if I went into labor and the only way for him to come back is a 18 hour drive. I doubt I will go into labor within the next week. I really wish to be there for him and his fellow soldiers that I have grown to known over the 2 years of our relationship. I’m so torn 😭😭

Maybe I would if it was someone close to me, like grandparents or parents. Friends of my SO, no.

Check with your Doctor. When I was pregnant with my son, I was told that it wasn’t recommended for me to travel within 6 weeks of my due date, and I was not allowed to within 4 weeks. I was told that that was standard. Some doctors might say differently, but you should check with your doctor before attempting it.

I'm sorry put yourself aside for this one I have been through a death like this from my husband it was his best friend the worst day of his life he needed me his wife to be there for him for support being pregnant will make it hard but you will regret the decision to not go and to not support him be that shoulder he needs to cry on be that hug he needs to hold him tight not trying to be mean and if it came off like that I'm sorry this is just something that I feel very strong on you go you support your husband

Yes. I would 100% go.
My husband is so close with all of the men in his unit, much more than those he’s known for years and I’d want to be there no matter what. 
There will be hospitals along the way in case you needed one. But that’s just me, he wouldn’t have to ask twice.

I would stay home. You might not go into labor, but there’s always the chance you could. 
At least if your fiancé is out of state, he has the option to fly home if need be. If you go and go into labor, no choice, baby will most likely be born in Florida.
