Baby leg stuck in crib
This morning my daughter started screaming from her crib, which is very unlike her. When I went to get her I found that her leg was stuck between the slates in her Graco crib. Her leg was all the way wedged up to her thigh. I had to cut off her pajama pants and attempted to rub her down with soap to slide it out. It did not work and her leg was turning very pale. My husband was at work so I ran outside and yelled to my neighbor on her porch for help. She came and helped me reposition my daughter and try to stretch the wooden slates while I pulled her leg out. Luckily, my daughter was okay and after a few minutes of consoling and rubbing her leg she was running around with no apparent pain. The bruising is minimal, but still, a baby should not be bruised just from her crib which is supposed to keep her safe. I now do not want to put my daughter back in that crib (obviously). But when shopping for a new crib I am unsure of how to find a better one. Can anyone recommend a crib that is safe and that they have had positive experiences with? Or, any recommendations on how to make sure this doesn’t happen again? Also, do you think I should contact Graco about this?
I am posting this anonymously because sometimes people can be brutally mean on here and I am feeling really shook from what happened and so guilty that my baby got hurt. I tried to handle the situation the best I could do I really want to avoid being judged.
