Tips to start eating healthy

So I'm trying to make a concious choice to eat healthier, but I have no idea where to start! All these carb, protein & calorie talk have me so confused on what I should be looking for... What are some ways you started eating healthier? I feel like if I start off too much right away, I won't stick to it and go back to my old ways... I know if I eat healthier at lunch time it would significantly change me eating habits. So any tips on what to pack for lunch would be great.
