Boyfriend dumped me over anger issues

my boyfriend has broken up with my because he’s scared he’ll start physically and verbally abusing me with his anger issues which have slowly begun to reappear. I want to help him and stick by him because we are the loves of each other’s lives. But he won’t let me because he’s too scared of his anger. I don’t know how to let go
