Refusing to sleep now that we switched the crib to toddler bed. PLEASE HELP

my daughter is 2 on a half now . she always slept in her crib from the time she came home from the hospital. I made the mistake of having my oldest in bed with me and she didn't grow out of it until she was about 6 years old. anyways I would say about 2 months ago she started climbing out of her crib and yea I lowered it down all the way I even ended up just putting the mattress on the floor an taking the metal things out. so we decided to switch the crib to the day bed so she wouldn't get hurt trying to climb out.

the first couple nights she was excited slept normal. but after that she realized she can just get up whenever she wants and that's when it started. now every night she is in my bed literally on top of me to fall asleep like she an infant I love me some cuddles but I know what happens when I let this happen. I need some help some tips or tricks to get her in her bed again. should I just put it back to a crib ????
