35 week old preemies
Hi moms! I have a 35 weeker who is almost 3 months old and would
love to share my experience and hear about yours!
My little guy came into the world on April 26. My pregnancy was relatively normal, but I did have gestational diabetes which was well controlled by diet, exercise and night time insulin for my fasting numbers. My water broke spontaneously at 35 weeks and I had him the next day. It was totally unexpected so I did not receive any steroid shots or anything. Thankfully, since he was fairly large for his gestational age (born at 6lbs 13oz), he did not stay in the NICU and we went home in 2 days. He was jaundiced for a while, but it was under control by extra feedings.
Now at almost 3 months, he's a chunky monkey at 15.5 lbs and 24.5 inches! He loves to eat (obvi), coo and smile. By all indicators, he's right on track developmentally as a 3 months old. The only thing he's fallen behind on is that he does not bat at or grab toys, so we are working on that.
Does anyone else have a 35 weeker story to share? Would love to hear yours!
