More often than not, I’m always wondering if I’m doing this parenting thing right, then moments like tonight happen.

Our pre-teen daughter (13 in 4 weeks) started high school this year. She’s a painfully shy girl, who has always excelled academically and has the kindest heart.

We had her first Parent/Teacher interviews tonight and we were proud of the A’s and B’s she received in her Mid Year report, but the thing that makes my heart burst with pride the most was when her Technology teacher was reduced to tears telling us how amazed he is of our wonderful daughter. She has been taking care of a fellow student in her class with major anxiety issues. Our kiddo, with her own social awkwardness has put that behind her to help out another person in need. The academic achievements are wonderful, but knowing we have raised a kind young lady makes me feel like we’re doing something right.
