Less movement means labor?

Question

Is it true that when the baby is moving less (because of no room) that means labor is coming soon? 
Im a ftm and just curious
My mother in law just told me that
Im feeling movement im still getting my kick counts everyday . 
I just wanna know when labor is close

Totally not true less movement near the end can be a bad sign always best to go get checked out. I had my oldest at 33wks because I didn’t feel him move all day, and luckily I went to get checked as his heart rate dropped within 20mins of being there. I got rushed to theatre (his cord was wrapped around his neck making his heart rate drop) he wouldn’t be here today if I didn’t go to hospital when I did.

Definitely call your doctor. When I got closer to the birth month I felt less movements and I later found out while in labor that her umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck 3 times.

My first daughter actually got more active before labor, and I’m 36 weeks now with my second daughter and it seems to start becoming that way as well. You should always inform your ob if you’re feeling less movement.

I've been told your baby should have the same movement pattern up until they are born so definitely get checked even if it is just to settle your mind

drink or eat something sweet,then lay down to see if anything happens but if not and especially if it feels hard go in even if it's just to get monitored and for them to get baby moving again.
