Hi there, 37w4d here and I had my cervix checked for the second time today in my pregnancy. Today was severely uncomfortable and I could barely get through it. Doctor said I wasn’t relaxing or “opening up.” Cervix state was soft but closed.

Later, when I went to the bathroom, I noticed I had bleeding and mucous discharge. Thinking I lost my mucous plug or had bloody show, I called doctor to check is labor was near. They were not concerned and said probably not, to just monitor.

Has anyone had similar experiences or tremendous discomfort on cervical checks? I am dreading the next one and am debating declining it be performed next week.
