Low blastocyst rate - what do we ask our doctor???πβ¨π
So we started with 16 eggs, not all were mature and 11 fertilized. 10 grew to day 5, but only 2 made it to blastocyst stage (8 stopped growing during the 5th night). The lab was not forthcoming with how many of the embryos were in the preblastocyst stage on day 5 although they said some were in that stage and some had not made it there yet. What questions should we ask the lab and our doctor?? Our doctor said heβs very pleased with the quality and that we have 2. Which I keep going back and forth on - nice encouraging, but also did we pay $25k to have 20% rates?! My emotions are still a bit all over the place yet (mostly angry, sad, and then grateful for our two embabiesππ). We are still waiting on the genetic testing, so we could end up with none ππ€¬. Our numbers have all been perfect, every time they give us a range we are right in the middle, so they slapped the unexplained infertility label on us. I also felt like our doctor didnβt take us as seriously as weβd like and wasnβt very aggressive in treatment with stims because all of our numbers seemed to indicate no issues. Any advice is appreciated.
