What kind of deodorant will you use while breastfeeding?

I saw a YouTube video where a mom mentioned she was going to use a brand name unscented deodorant while breastfeeding and I honestly hadn’t thought about that. What do you momma’s think?

I’ve never heard of deodorant effecting breastfeeding 🤔 I have however heard of watching what kind of body wash you use around your breasts.

Its not about scents in my opinion your lymph glands in your pits are very close to your breasts and i dont want the aluminum and parabens from regular deodorant getting in my babies food. Native is the only natural one that works for me

I make my own deodorant- a recipe from wellness mama. I swear it works better than any deodorant I have ever used and I can leave it unscented or put essential oils in it.

I think it’s super unfair to have stinky perfume around a baby. They can’t tell you they have a headache or what if they’re allergic to your “scent”. I don’t use fabric softener either. All non scented detergent in my family and when my baby is born I will only wear perfume when I’m going out with my husband. Plus perfumes aren’t regulated there are chemicals in there that aren’t always the best for your baby.

I never thought about that either so I guess I might be doing research because the deodorant I use (24/7) has a strong scent people often tell me they like my perfume but I NEVER wear perfume 😂

I guess since you have breast tissue in your armpits, it could matter what deodorant you  use.

I think a lot of things those women do are to make themselves (or others, to gain followers or whatever) feel like they're better in some way than other women. "I only use organic non gmo unscented everything at 50x the cost, and I think people who don't are ruining the environment." Its something to think about if you have issues, but if you dont have issues, dont worry about it. I never had a lactation consultant or OB ask about my deoderant.
