Do you guys think it’s normal to be the first one to see you’re own mail? (Cause my mother doesn’t)

I made this cause my mother is currently pissed off cause she thinks that because she’s my mom she has the right to. However since it’s my mail I told her it’s for me so I should see it first. I just wanted see who agrees really.

I can’t even imagine what kind of mail you would be getting as anybody under 18.
Regardless it is your mail.
But all I got as a kid was birthday cards. Now all i get is bills and credit card offers.

My mother used to do this (especially ones from school if i were in trouble lol) and her perspective would be "the heck you receiving mails for?! Imma open them whether you like it or not" 😅 but after I graduated high school, that's only when she started giving me my unopened mails. 
I guess its a thing with asian mums 😂

Since you’re underage and it was from school, they most likely say to the parents of (name) so it’s their mail even though it says your name. I would want to know what my child was receiving in the mail at that young.

my mum never opened my mail, the only mails i got when i lived with her is bank statements,college letters etc, if im out on a day i get mail she will tell me where the mail came from and she only opens it if i give her permission. Maybe talk to your mum and tell her how you feel? x

Um regardless it's illegal to mess with someone else's mail. Regardless if they're your parent. If it says to the parent/guardian then she can but if it outright states your name, that's a federal offense
