Baby Showers on a budget?

Question

Has anyone had a cheap/ inexpensive baby shower? Or one that didn’t cost over $700?
I asked before but everyone mentioned they had spent well over $1,000 or someone threw it for them and unfortunately I’m throwing my own.
I’m kind of getting discouraged on how mine will turn out in the next month due to not being able to get the nice things we wanted 😕
Anyways, how’s did it turn out? Do you regret not splurging on certain items?

I didn’t have one but you can make it as cheap as you wish it isn’t about spending all the cash why would you if you don’t have it to spend with important things to buy for baby? 
You could just hire somewhere small only invite those who are extremely close to you make your own sandwich platters etc and hand make decorations. Or bake your own afternoon tea. No one is gonna judge you not every one cash to flash. Some times those little on budget ones turn out better then the flashy ones.

I'm in the same boat honestly. $700 is alot. I have expensive taste but not the bank account to do so 😂😂 Find some clearance items & also just shop around different places before you jump on what you see. Unless it's a great deal. Alot of ppl shop Amazon heard they have good prices. Good luck to you beautiful. & don't get overwhelmed on what we  can't afford. Just love what you can! Enjoy 😊🤗

We did a co Ed baby shower cook out at our own house. We spent under $400 on hamburgers hot dogs chips fruit salad pasta salad deviled eggs sodas water and beer. Used paper plates and plastic cups that were blue since were having a boy and blue napkins. We put up Some blue balloons around the yard and got Blue cup cakes for desert. And we did mini champagne bottles that said pop when she pops as a take home gift. We had activities outside like corn hole since it was June. We’re not super high maintenance or fancy people though and that was what made us happy 💁🏻‍♀️

My friends threw me one, it was nice but simple.  it was at her house, all the guests brought the food, she got some cute game cards online and that was it other than some presents and balloons.  Just remember,  you're doing this to celebrate your baby, not put on a show for Instagram or Facebook.

My favorite thing is throwing parties on a budget! We're having it at our home and have asked guests to bring a dish if they can so all we're providing are meatball sandwhiches and drinks, everything else is a potluck! Ive made very cute backdrops for the walls out of tableclothes from the dollar store (pinterest idea) and mostly decorating with balloons, if you have a craft store nearby they usually have helium tanks with a decent coupon or discount. We got two tanks for $30 and about 60 balloons from the dollar store! The most expensive part was just getting a canaopy, tables, and chairs for all the guests (about 50) and that was still only $60. I’m doing my own. And we’ll spend maybe $50 on food
A friend will spend maybe $20 on decor but that’s it
There’s nothing wrong with dollar stores and making things yourself cause I feel it’s more rewarding
You don’t NEED balloons/food to feed 100 people/streamers/games
Ask the fam to cook some good food, and just focus on being around people.
You don’t need things to make a good baby shower. It’ll be used once and thrown out.

$700 seems expensive. You really don’t need much decoration—guests really don’t care. I would do electronic invites (did my SIL via paperless post for $20), then you could do a bbq/cookout in the backyard. Have your husband or someone else grill. Go to Costco to get chips, veggie tray, hamburgers/hotdogs and whip up a cold salad. Probably not more than $200 in the end.

I have the luxury (headache)😂 of planning my baby shower, with help... and so far it hasn’t been expensive at all. I’d say most of the money is going to food and decor but we’re well under $700. I think it’s turning out great so far. Its going to be next week so hasn’t happened yet but i think the outcome will be more than enough🤷🏽‍♀️. I wouldn’t go crazy spending money on a baby shower when I could just buy all the things we need with that kind of spending but to each his own. Lol.

$700 is TOTALLY doable ! Are you entertaining 25-40 people? I would say $200 should be your budget area with some wiggle room. DT has good streamers, color décor, and games/gifts for winners. You can have only your closest friends/family bring a tray with them OR you can have it at home and do a cookout on the grill ! Get some chips, drinks, and keep it simple. I hope you find what works best for you !

I am not going to have one at all. Doing it alone and every euro is going to be counted for. bring on the second hand stuff!
