How often do you put baby in swing?

My baby is 7 weeks old and I just got a swing a few days ago. I don’t want to feel like my baby is spending too much time in it. I know it says not to use it more than an hour a day. But how long do you typically put your baby in it?

Our 9 week son is definitely in his swing more than an hour a day. It’s where he often sleeps because he refuses to sleep in his bassinet most of the time. He’ll nap for a couple hours in his swing but only 10 min in his bassinet. We give him quite a bit of tummy time to try to balance the time in his swing and on his playmat.

I didn’t have a swing but I had a rock n play. I used it when I needed a little break from holding him or if I had to do sketching like use the bathroom or do dishes, etc.
