Planned Vbac turned into Cesarean at 38weeks

Jadine

So 1 week ago I had my beautiful daughter via planned cesarean due to elevated blood pre since 30 weeks and gestational diabetes. Initially I was planning a vbac waterbirth since I had my son 5yrs ago and was a good candidate to attempt a vbac. My dr was also pro vbac and I was preparing physically and mentally for my vbac. At 30 weeks I developed high blood pressure and gestational diabetes and Dr was not happy and told me that if my press was not going to come down he won't go ahead with the vbac. I was crushed but I trusted his instinct and thank God I did beck at 38weeks gestation he performed the cesarean and discovered that the scar tissue from my previous cesarean had grown onto and attached to my blade and was so thick that I would have possibly torn had I gone ahead with the vbac. I was in theater for 3 hours since he had to scrape my placenta out by hand and remove all old scar tisdue. I am healing well but definitely slow than my first c section. My baby weighed 2,8kg and she is perfect. Thought I would share this for other moms considering vbac just for piece of mind. Good luck to all
