Is trust important in a relationship?

Personally I think it really is and i don’t think you can love someone without trusting them.

My boyfriend has trust issues, but so do i because of my past - (veryy long story short) i told my friend some very personal things and she told everyone which stressed me out etc.

Anyway, we both have trust issues, but i try my very best to trust him - although girls have popped up to me saying he isnt very loyal to me (he cheated on his ex with me).

So I think he’s afraid of me making the mistakes that he has previously made

He is soooo anxious of me cheating on him - he even tells me not to text boys every day, which i think is so wrong because thats just being controlling.

Anyway, we’ve been through a lot.

Also, when i make a small mistake, he always shouts at me or argues with me over text calling me a ‘lying bitch’ or something like that which i think is horrible since im his girlfriend

He always says i give him reasons not to trust me but i dont understand how. I try to trust him but he just doesnt.

Opinions on this???
