Did you get a urinary catheter placed during labor?

I’ve had a very traumatizing experience with a urinary catheter & am just wondering if this is something I should expect my doctor will want to do. I would rather be poked with needles than get a catheter 😖 Just trying to mentally prepare...

If you get an epidural you’ll need a catheter. Otherwise with natural labor you shouldn’t.

Only if you get an epidural. They place it after you get it and take it out before you start pushing

If you get an epidural, you will get the catheter. An epidural will also limit your mobility, e.g. No walking. Walking, dancing, getting out of bed are your friend as you can have gravity help progress labor tremendously. 
Also keep in mind that an epidural lowers mommy and baby's heart rate. Try looking into getting a doula who can assist with pain without needing epidural 😀 good luck!!!

Did it natural with no epidural. No catheter needed.  They do a catheter with an epidural though, so if you get one, you may get a urinary catheter too.

I had a catheter and my labor was natural and I didn't have any complications at all 🤷 but it's really not that bad just a little uncomfortable when they are first putting it in and taking it out.

I had one with my epidural, it seems completely necessary. But with the epidural I could not feel it at all.
