anyone else get refused help by medical staff because their bmi is too high? I have several medical issues and last week I found out 4 of the meds I'm on cause weight gain (I've been taking them 4+ years). I broke down again today at a hospital appointment after I swore to myself I wouldn't. I was told I didn't deserve the surgery needed to let me eat normal food and stop acid/stomach issues (swallowing issues due to surgery) and if I wanted them to help I had to prove i wanted it and get my bmi to the lower healthy and keep it there for 6 months minimum. this is somethig that affects my life daily, keeps me awake at night and something I've battled for 6yrs. I've been trying to loose weight for 10yrs but because of stupid medical conditions I struggle and end up putting it all back on during flare ups when I can't get out of bed. I've asked drs multiple times but all I've ever gotten was a 'good food sheet' which I struggle to eat to begin with! I'm sick of doctors blaming every issue on my weight and bmi chart, I had a chest infection that took 4 weeks to diagnose because they told me if I lost weight I wouldn't have chest issues!! please tell me I'm not the only one that's denied
