One week old, pooping too much?

I’m not sure what to do. Two days ago, at 5 days old, my daughter went almost 24 hours without pooping. Finally she had a normal, soft smallish one and starting yesterday we’ve had 3 pretty huge blowout poops and two in the last hour, both runny. I’m not sure what to do and my anxiety is running all kind of worst case scenarios.

Very normal! My daughter does the same thing. If she goes a while she has a small hardish poop then woooahhh lots of softer poop! It’s like the cork is out and everything that was stuck comes out. She still does it and she’s nearly two years old!

If you are breastfeeding this can make their poops much softer and more likely to blow. As she gets a little older it won’t be so bad.

Don't worry, that sounds normal. For the first three weeks my daughter would poop every time we breastfed. The blowouts started at about 1 month old and we'd have 1-3 a day. It got better as she got older.

Can be normal. My daughter is 11 weeks old and she’s only started going to the toilet every day. In the first few weeks she would only go every 2nd or 3rd day and could have a few small ones or a few massive ones in a day. I spoke to my health visitor about it and she said it’s normal.
