lets make a baby

so last night my boyfriend of three years and I where laying in bed about ready to go to twon if you know what I mean and he says to me "let's make a baby" as he knows that I do want kids with him and so does he. but then later he's like I'm not ready for a baby but still was like maybe we can. I'm just comfused as fuck at that.
