Anyone work at a preschool?

Question

So Im 19. I have an interview for a preschool teacher position. Like an entry level. Anyways I have no experience with kids at all except for babysitting here and there. They said they would train me. I would work 20-25 hours a week and that would be perfect for me right now. 
But I’m nervous because I have never worked in a preschool. I love kids and I have always wanted to work with them, but since I had no experience I will go in having no idea what I’m doing. Lol. So anyways has anyone else worked at a preschool? Or as anything that has to do with kids? I would be with the 3 or 4 year olds I believe it said online when I applied. I am in college right now to eventually become a teacher (I would love to teach middle school or high school one day) so I think this job would be great to at least get some kind of experience, so I can eventually start working my way up. 
What does your job consist of? Do enjoy it? Any advice? Thanks!! 🙂

They’ll probably throw you in a room just to see how you are with the kids; don’t worry, the other teachers stay lol 
Don’t be afraid to jump right in and play with the kiddos, and correct unsafe behavior!! Most new hires or potential future employees are always scared to do this because they feel like they’re “stepping on toes” so early, but it’s actually just a great sign that you’d be a great help in the classroom! 
Do you know how to change a diaper? If not, let me know. 
They’ll train you on the DSS and DHEC rules as per your specific center and locations.
Don’t eat anything with tree nuts before school/interview/etc. Most have strict policies on this because of allergies.

I’ve been doing this from every grade level (infants-kindergarten) for 7 years, babysat for way longer than that, and have younger siblings who I raised haha

I’ve been teaching preschool for 13 years. Like Ashley said they will most likely have you shadow in a classroom for awhile as part of your interview. Make sure you ask the teachers a lot of questions about their classroom routines, how they like working there, etc. Ask what they would like you to do, and if they don’t have anything specific make sure you sit down and play with the kids. They will mostly be observing your interactions with the children and how outgoing you are. I can’t tell you how irritating it is when someone stands in the corner and doesn’t talk the entire time. 
It’s definitely an extremely busy and high energy job, but so rewarding. Good luck!
