Can you ask to induce early?

I am 37w friday and Im set up to do NST twice a week. The problem is that I wake up with high BP and it gradually goes down. I have a BP cuff that I use and the hospital checked it so I know its accurate. So by the time im hooked up in the hospital its fine and they just send me home. I cant keep anything down anymore including water. My feet are swollen and painful. I want to know if I can suggest an induction to my OB? Is that a thing?

call and ask they may just beacuse it's not really sad to keep a baby in if you can't even hold water down you keep haveing high blood pressure and swollen feet i would call and ask to see tge doctor

Not before 38 weeks for a normal pregnancy. that is the safest time

You can ask but depending on the DR/clinic they might consider or not at all. My DR (including the others at the clinic) will not do any inductions before 39 weeks if its not necessary. Im high risk and since my pregnancy is going well I'm going to be induced at 39 weeks but I was told not before that not even by 1 day.
