Am I too old?

I graduated college at 23. Didnt know what I wanted to do so I worked for years and now I'm 28. I want to apply to nursing school but need to take all the science pre reqs since I have a bachelors in arts. I have my cna, so i figured i would work for a year then apply to nursing school. The program I'm looking at would be 4 years and I would end up with a DNP (doctor of nursing practice). By that time I will be 34. Does that seem old? I feel a little discouraged. I also dont have family in my life and they've never been supportive. So I dont feel like I'm good at anything. I have depression and anxiety so maybe it's just my own mind making me feel down.

i know a lady who pursued her dream of being a stewardess in her 40’s, so never to old!

I say do it! I went and worked at a community college before getting my Bachelor's and we'd have plenty of nontraditional students - especially in the nursing programs! Age shouldn't stop you from chasing your dreams! Best of luck to you on your journey!

Definitely not too old! Many people change careers much later in life! You can do this!

Definitely not too old! I got an MA at 40 and an MDiv at 56! Besides, there is already a huge shortage of nurses and it’s predicted to get worse, so your job opportunities would be excellent. You just need to be prepared for heavy science and some math courses. Never let age hold you back! I have a friend who is close to my age and she just finished her residency a year ago after deciding to change careers and go to med school!
