My birth story, a lil long but I know I wanted to hear all types of stories to prepare so here it goes.....(sorry for spelling etc trying to type quick) so it all started out Friday night August 3rd or actually Friday all day I was having horrible lower back pain with irregular contractions but I didn’t really pay it any mind in the evening I called the doctor to see what I should do and he just said wait around that I may be in early labor but it could take hours or days. Mind you I had my second sweep at exactly 38 weeks 2 days before on Wednesday. so I go home that night my husband gets us in Chinese I try to eat a little since I had basically starved all day because I woke up nauseous that morning. After eating it was almost 10pm. I decided to for the first time this pregnancy to insert three evening primerose oil capsules as far up into my cervix as I could to try and start softening my cervix. my husband comes up around 1030 we lay down and I finally fall asleep. while asleep I wake up surprisingly only once that night to go Pee as usual while having a contraction and come back and get in the bed . My husband wakes up around 530 which is now Saturday to go to work he leaves l and I try to fall back asleep . while not long after that I have a really hard contraction that I try to sleep through. But can’t really sleep through it and right after the contraction I feel a pop I didn’t know if it was a pop or just a really hard kick so I try to readjust myself and As I turn over I feel a small amount of liquid come out. I’m thinking it’s probably some of the oil left over from the capsules so I decide to go Pee since I usually have to pee after a contraction. I get to the bathroom and another small gush of this comes out so I sit down and try to Pee and only a little Pee comes out but something else is still flowing after I’ve finished peeing. Now I’ve decided there is no way this is oil. I wake up my step son and ask him to run to the car to get the ph strips so I could test myself and low and behold it turns blue . Now I’m freaking out cause I really didn’t expect this to happen . So I call my mom and husband And I get the kids up and get them dressed and I even clean a little while walking around holding a towel between my legs 😂😂😂Unlike last time my contractions didn’t start right away thank god . My first real contractions didn’t start until I get to the hospital about a hour and change later and even then they started a little spaced out but still manageable . So finally the contractions hit hard and I asked for some pain meds in my IV which doesn’t really take the pain away just takes the edge off a little But didn’t really do anything but make me a little drowsy but there’s no way in hell I could rest with those contractions so I’m having hard ones and feeling a lot of pressure and it’s like I went from 4 cm to past that in less than an hour of being checked . I’m feeling a lot of pressure and in so much pain and she’s like do you want the epidural and I’m like I feel like I need to push but I’m not telling the lady because I’m trying to get this epidural first so they come in they put the. Epidural in and I get checked and I’m already full so it’s time to push the epidural never takes effect so it was all pointless they call the doctor and it only takes a few places and baby is out less than six hours of labor from me getting to the hospita epidural in and I get checked and I’m already full so it’s time to push the epidural never takes effect so it was all pointless they call the doctor and it only takes a few places and baby is out less than six hours of labor from My water breaking at 6:30 AM to me delivering at 12:09 PM he was 7 lbs. 4 oz. 19 inches long.
