Doula opinion?

Hey ladies! So I’m curious how many of you had a doula during your labor and delivery and how your experience was with them? I’m super interested in having one. Thank you!!

I did and she was amazing! I had to be induced and was in so much pain with everything they kept throwing at me. Even though we had gone over breathing techniques and ways to move ahead of time I couldn't remember anything in the moment. She helped me walk around, she even put my panties on for me before each walk because I didn't want to bend down or go commando. She massaged me and rubbed essential oils on my temples to help with nausea. I was in labor for 32 hours and then had to have a C-section. Literally my worse fear. She was a great sounding board for each decision we had to make. She had already met my doctor and they got along well, so it was really a team effort to get baby born. I hadn't slept in over 24 hours when they induced me so I was exhausted. I only wanted to sit on the toilet and kept falling asleep between contractions. She propped pillows behind me and put the tray table with another pillow in front of me so I could rest more comfortably. Best of all she helped my husband figure out how to be the best birth partner. He really needed her guidance to know how to comfort me. I didn't even know how to comfort myself. Do it, you won't regret it!
