I'm looking to try my hand at freelance reporting but I've been stuck behind a desk designing newspapers since I graduated college 6 years ago.

I'm looking for some help, motivation and maybe even contacts to start doing some real journalism. I'm Canadian but up for advice from anywhere!

Writing is my medium and I'm halfway decent at photography but I am really nervous about reaching out to sources/news organizations because the last time I interviewed someone or successfully pitched a story was for my college paper.
