I’ve had patients get them anywhere from 1-9 cm

My personal goal was to get to 6cm. I got to 4cm! My husband reminded me that I wasn’t getting prize or a medal waiting for 6cm! Major credit to women that have natural childbirth! I couldn’t have done it without my epidural.

2 cm. I had very slow progression but my doctor recommended that I get it when he broke my water. He's great!

I got induced and I didn't dilate pass 8 cm that's when I got the epidural

3 and 1/2 but it was because the pitocin (I was induced) was making my contractions so intense).

I got mine when I was 5cm, but I was also induced. I planned to get it at 3cm because my contractions were SO bad, but I had to wait for the doctor to come down to give me it. Before he did, they checked me again and I jumped to 5

This is really good info. I am going in to have my 4th baby on Monday via induction with cervadil, pitocin, etc. I have been induced with all 3 of my kiddos and only ever tried an epidural with my 1st but it failed and never took so I was kind of wondering the same thing! I'm hoping to try for an epidural with this 1 just to feel more present for birth.

5cm. Water was broken and they gave me pitocin to speed things up, I was in terrible pain 😭
