Help with first solid
My lo seems like he is ready to start solids and the dr had given the go ahead at his last appointment saying he was at a point that we could if he was interested. He seems like interested when we are eating but when I prep him baby oatmeal with breast milk he will have like 4 baby spoons and then turn his head away. Don’t know if I should keep trying the cereal to see if it is a matter of getting used to new experience and texture or if it might be he doesn’t like the taste. How long did it take your lo to take to wanting to have solid food once started? Did they take some time getting used to or was it something quick?
I know all babies are different but no idea what to expect or if I should just give him a break and try veggies later. I only started with cereal because thought it would be closest to breast milk taste and might make it easier with the transition.
Here is a pic of the little stinker just because.

Update:
Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll give him a break and try later with some vegetable or fruit to see if he appears more interested in those. I might just be reading wrong his stare when we are eating to him just being entertained with the motion and mimics us when we are openinf our mouths and not that he might want to try it.
