Was He Being Selfish?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 months, friends for 6 years. My bf loves calling me through out the day (like during his work break, at the gym, etc) and we FaceTime each other every night. But recently I went on vacation with my family and couldn’t really answer his calls throughout the day... I would call him back when I was not interrupting the family but then he wouldn’t answer and I even texted him I was with my family and I could FaceTime him back at night. He got mad and said “im not calling you anymore”, I told him I’m sorry but now he’s not answering my calls.

I feel like he is being a little selfish... previously he went on a 7 day cruise and I couldn’t contact him at all! And I gave him space. I’m on vacay with my family and after 2 missed calls he is upset. I know he will talk to me eventually but should I tell him he was being selfish? Or was he right?
